Profile
The Dilmun Burial Mounds are a vast group of ancient burial sites in Bahrain, dating back to the Dilmun civilization (around 2000 BCE). These mounds, scattered across the island, represent one of the largest and most important archaeological sites in Bahrain. They were used to bury members of the elite, with many of the mounds containing grave goods, pottery, and other artifacts that provide insights into the social and cultural practices of the time. This site is a UNESCO World Heritage candidate and an important part of Bahrain’s rich archaeological heritage.
